Gilding wax!! One of my favorite touches to a piece of furniture. Gilding wax I feel, is this unspoken secret that can add just the right touches to a beautiful piece of furniture. Gilding wax can be purchased in a variety of different shades of metals. Bronze, silver, gold...etc.
Rub N Buff Is my go to gilding wax! It is affordable and does just as good of a job as the fancy $30 gilding waxes. And believe me, I've tried and own the $30 gilding waxes. The $30 gilding wax will last a LONG time. But, if you compare how they look. There is no difference!
The picture below is of an end table leg that I painted in Dixie Belle Caviar. I added a light gray wash and then lightly rubbed silver Rub N Buff with the tip of my finger to the edges. You do not want to paint gilding wax on. RUB is in the name for a reason. ;)
